Healthy for the horse

The reed pellets are a natural product from protected areas without any impurities or fertilizers. They do not cause dust and are hyper absorbent, so, there will be no ammonia odors in stables, just a fresh, comfortable and dry environment.

Low carbon footprint

We evaluate the environmental performance and provide detailed information in Environmental Product declaration. The counting showed that our pellets are the better alternative for horse bedding if compared with straw pellets and peat moss. Our carbon footprint for 1 kg of pellets is 0,025 kg.

Easy and effective cleaning

The bedding is economic, easy-to-use and you don’t need to specially prepare it. You only need to remove the wet spots, therefore you will spend less time when handling the stall. To top up a stable box you only need 2 bags of 15 kg per week, there are no disposal costs.

100 % natural, no chemicals

Pellets are made from biomass which is harvested in natural wetlands that are situated in Lithuania’s protected areas near the Baltic Sea. These territories belong to the Natura2000 network. Here natural wetland vegetation grows, there is no agro-industrial activity, which means fertilizer and chemical-free environment. During the production, no binders, additives or chemicals are used.

Does not cause allergies

The pellets are made from reed, sedge and other wetland plant grass, which horses do not eat, and are hight temperature treated, therefore it does not cause allergies or diseases.

Helps to save rare birds – aquatic warblers

Late-cut grass from wetlands, where the rarest Europe’s songbird – Aquatic warbler – lives, is used to make the pellets. By recycling the grass, which is not suitable for fodder anymore, we ensure that biomass will not accumulate in these unique habitats that are now rare to find in Europe and in this way the rare home for the rare bird would be protected.

100 % biodegradable

Grass pellets are natural fertilizer. You can compost or use the used pallets as fertilizer in fields.

Saving natural resources

The production of the pellets is nature conservation activity – it helps to save natural habitats. Since natural biomass is used, there is no need to create artificial monoculture fields or to use additional watering or fertilizing. 100 % of energy used in the production process comes from renewable resources.

Hygge for an owner of a horse

The bedding is economic, easy-to-use and you don’t need to specially prepare it. Poured out pellets stay where they are spread, therefore it will be much easier to keep up the cleanliness. Since you only need to remove wet spots, you will spend less time maintaining the stall. You will save both the bedding and space. The piles of removed bedding will not accumulate quickly. To top up a stable box you only need 2 bags of 15 kg per week. Grass pellets are also a natural fertilizer. You can compost or use the used pellets as a fertilizer for your fields. That way, you will not have any disposal costs.

Packages of pellets are comfortable for storage and transportation. They take less space than regular straw.

Hygge for nature and climate

The production of these pellets is a nature conservation activity. During the production late-cut grass that is no longer suitable for fodder is recycled. In this way we are protecting the home of the rarest Europe’s songbird – the Aquatic Warbler – and other bird species.

Special modern equipment designed to work in wet conditions is used. It prevents the soil from harsh damage and consumes less fuel.
In comparison to an alternative product – bog peat – the „Hygge pellet“ is a real hero of climate change mitigation. During the production of bog peat valuable habitats, home to rare and protected species, are destroyed. Also, when using bog peat, CO2 is released. “Hygge pellet” in contrast helps rare habitats and species flourish and CO2 is accumulated in vegetation.

Another alternative for horse bedding is straw and its pellets. “Hygge pellet” is a more environmentally friendly alternative. In contrary to growing crops for straw products, when getting the raw material for “Hygge pellet” no resources are used - no water, no fertilizers, no herbicides, no pesticides, no other chemicals. Also, we avoid forming huge monoculture fields that displace many other plant species from their natural home. No resources are needed when preparing fields for a new season. Meanwhile, if you remove the straw from crop fields in the next year you need a third more fertilizer to fertilize the same areas.
